Demeter Studios produces original
designs featuring hand-forged and textured silver. Working with an
unusual selection of precious & semi-precious stones, this award-winning
jewelry blends abstract and organic themes. Whether one-of-a-kind or
limited edition, the distinctive styling makes each piece unique,
eye-catching and extraordinary.
They are not made from PMC clay; these pendants and earrings are hand crafted from sterling silver in sheet, wire or other raw forms. A variety of traditional methods are used to process the metal - bending, soldering, rolling, hand-hammering, and fabrication of custom bezels – developing each unique piece. From the design pad to the finished product, these wearable artworks are incomparable in both craftsmanship and creativity.

Sherrie Netusil-Barta is the owner and principal artist of Demeter Studios. A graduate of Hofstra University in Metalsmithing, she has taught ceramics & jewelry for college and adult education courses. Ms. Netusil-Barta also restored historic detail and stenciling work at the Vail-Leavitt Music Hall in Riverhead, and is a brain tumor survivor since 1997.
